General Surgery
The Department of General Surgery of "IZMIRLIAN" MEDICAL CENTER was founded in 2000 by Prof. A.I. Adamyan. Since 2005, the department has been headed by PhD Baghdasaryan.
Open and laparoscopic surgeries are carried out in the department:
- For various lesions of the abdominal cavity, retroperitoneal space, as well as the neck, chest and extremities;
- Diseases of the liver, gallbladder and biliary tract, pancreas, spleen (including oncological, hematological, parasitic origin, etc.);
- Diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (ulcer disease, intestinal obstruction, tumor diseases, etc.);
- Complex hernias of various locations (using alloplastic meshes), including laparoscopic methods;
- Benign and malignant diseases of the thyroid gland, breast, lymph nodes;
- Gynecological service.
The scientific activity of the department includes research on the diagnosis and surgical treatment of diseases of the hematopoietic and endocrine systems, hepatopancreatobiliary area, which have been published in numerous domestic and foreign scientific collections and journals. The department also has a gynecological service.
