Laboratory Department
The department consists of clinical, biochemical, serological, as well as immunoenzymatic research laboratories.
The subdivisions of the Laboratory Department conduct research on protein, carbohydrate, lipid metabolism, as well as electrolytes and acid-base balance disorders in various pathological conditions, in diseases of a surgical, urological and therapeutic profile.
The activities of department include researches of diabetes mellitus, anemia, myocardial damage, infections, thyroid gland, diseases of the reproductive system, oncomarkers of various organ systems, as well as hormones.
When examining the state of organ systems, the emphasis is on modern standards of laboratory diagnostics, which are based on unified methods of test, that are performed using the most modern automatic analyzers and high-quality diagnostic kits.
During intensive therapy, the determination of the body's electrolytes, acid-base balance and oxygen balance is performed, based on the indicators of which further dynamic control of oxygen transport, gas exchange mode, level and efficiency is carried out. The latter is carried out using computer programs developed in the Laboratory Department.
Automatic diagnosis of the main syndromes of acid-base balance and microelement balance disorders is carried out, which allows to accelerate sharply the process of dynamic control and to reduce the spent hour.
The department is one of the educational bases for clinical residents. Scientific activity is reflected in publications, materials of scientific-practical seminars, conferences.
The department constantly carries out internal and interlaboratory control of the quality and accuracy of research, external control of the quality of research in accordance with the standards of the British international program RIQAS. The international ISO 15189 quality management system has been introduced.
For the first time in Armenia, a pilot program for determining the Anti Xa factor to assess the effectiveness and safety of anticoagulant therapy has been introduced in the Laboratory Department of "IZMIRLIAN" MEDICAL CENTER.
The department is the educational base of the Chair of "Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics" of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Health of Republic of Armenia, where more than 150 employees of the field were trained and specialized in 2022.
The scientific activity of the department is reflected in the materials of scientific-practical seminars and conferences.
